As a collective, the Colorado Avalanche took on the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday night at the Pepsi Center. Individually, how did the players rate in their 2-0 win? Let's take a look:

Mikko Rantanen (A) - The big, jovial Finn got what proved the game-winner, putting a hard shot on Sergei Bobrovsky that hit his right pad and deflected into the net. I thought Rants did other good things with the puck, like protecting it along the wall and in transition situations out of the zone. That's 38 points in 40 games now for Rants.

Nathan MacKinnon (B+) - No goals, but seven shots on net for MacK, and he got a secondary assist on Matt Nieto's open-netter off the bungled transition to the bench by Sergei Bobrovsky. It seemed like he overskated the puck a few times, but all in all another dangerous night.
