All of Colorado's prospects were back in action this week! But it was the two wearing red and black that stole the show.

(Week of Dec. 31 - Jan. 6)

Nick Leivermann (36GP - 7G, 22A) - 2017 Round 7, Pick 187 (Defenseman, Penticton Vees - BCHL)

After dropping both of their games last week, the Penticton Vees picked up back to back wins this week. Leivermann got back on track as well - picking up points in both of his team’s wins. I’m anxious to see how Leivermann does next year at Notre Dame, I think there is legitimate upside for the former seventh-round pick.

Dec. 29: vs Prince George Spruce Kings

W 2-1 - 0G, 1A

Dec. 30: vs Wenatchee Wild

W 5-2 - 0G, 1A

Conor Timmins (28 GP - 6G, 28A) - 2017 Round 2, Pick 32 (Defenseman, Soo Greyhounds - OHL)

Boy oh boy. What can you say about the week that Conor Timmins had in Buffalo at the World Junior Championships? Timmins capped off an incredible individual performance at the tournament with an all-world pass to set up Tyler Steenbergen for the game-winning goal to propel his team to the gold medal. Timmins was named one of Team Canada’s top players as selected by the coaching staff - he also earned high praise from TSN’s Ray Ferraro. Timmins is one of the most exciting prospects Colorado has had in a long, long time. Expect him to push for the Avs’ roster out of camp next year if this kind of progression keeps up.

Dec. 26: vs Switzerland

W 8-2 - 1G, 1A

Dec. 27: vs Czech Republic

W 7-2 - 0G, 0A

Dec. 29: @ Sweden

W 3-1 - 0G, 1A
