The Denver Nuggets earned one of their most dramatic wins of the season over the New Orleans Pelicans on Dec. 15. Will Barton stole the show that night, scoring 11 points in overtime as the Nuggets knocked off the Pelicans. Barton's late-game heroics earned most of the headlines afterward. What gets swept under the rug was how Denver got to overtime in the first place.
In the fourth quarter, Trey Lyles scored 13 points to help the Nuggets claw all the way back. He finished the game with 19 points in 31 minutes.
"He gets buckets," shooting guard Gary Harris told BSN Denver that night. "That's what Trey does."
